Abstract:

The aim of this study is to compare the number of independent physics laboratory (BFL) courses in the curriculums of physics education programs in Turkey, the number of physics experiments carried out in these courses, and the distribution of these experiments according to the topics of physics. The available population of the study consists of the curriculums of relevant programs that have ECTS information packages on the web. In this study, the document analysis method was used. The data obtained from the documents were investigated through descriptive analysis. The results of the study indicate that the number of the BFL courses and the contents of these courses vary from university to university, that the courses focus on different topics, and that some topics are neglected. The results of the study also show that the titles of the courses and the contents of them are not compatible with one another in some BFL courses.
