ABSTRACT ABSTRACT ABSTRACT It is indisputable that as a first hand source the book of travels occupies an important place in historical studies. In particular, these books are more valuable in terms of socio-historical studies. However, it can be seen a significant increase in translations and publications of these books in recent years. In this regard, in the accounts of Italian merchant-traveler Tommaso Alberti, who travelled between Venice-Istanbul and Poland, gives some important information concerning such Ottoman rulers as Ahmed I, his successors Mustafa I and Osman II. In this article, we will analysis the Alberti’s brief account and its information about Ottoman state, destinations, commercial activities, as well as other historical and geographical data relating to Balkan cities
