Abstract:

Temettuat registers which are in the Prime Ministry Ottoman Archive gives important datas about the Ottoman country in XIX’th century. The name of chief of house and their profession also tax like aşar and ağnam had been recorded in this registers which are adjusted to district and villages. Also the amount of the land which house had, agricultural product which had produced, the number and the kind of animal’s had given. Important determination which are related to the socio-economic structure of district and villages can be made from all this datas. Seydişehir district of Beyşehir sanjak on the years when the temettuat resgister was recorded. Seydişehir was one of medium sized town as the structure of demographic. It is understood that Seydişehir’s economy depended on agriculture, livestock and small industry. Agricultural products like wheat, barley, oat, cattle and small ruminant were produced. Seydişehir’s socio-economic structure was determined according to temettuat register in this research. It’s understood that Seydişehir’s ecomomic structure based on agriculture, livestock and small industry from Ottoman to nowadays hadn’t more chaged.
