Abstract:

Today, healthcare has become one of the most important issues that directly affect society. The majority of the health sector is made up of hospitals. While patients choose the hospital to be treated from many hospitals, the quality of health care in that hospital affects this decision. Hospitals that provide health care work with the vardiya system. The biggest problem of working with the wire system is the constant change of working hours and unbalanced work loads, these changes negatively affect employees. The fatigue and negligence of employees – especially nurses – poses a vital risk for patients. In hospitals, the nursing schedule process is carried out manually by the responsible nursing of the relevant department, this process takes about 10 hours and is often concerned with imbalances in work loads. In this study, the Nursing Character problem was addressed. A model with the 0-1 Target Programming method has been developed to solve the nursing charting problem. The established model was implemented in a state hospital in Kırıkkale. The current situation and the proposed model are compared.
