Developments experienced in the world and in our country, technological inventions and innovations make it essential to revise many elements about life. In this respect, it is necessary to determine various standards or competencies in order to make teachers who are taught have intended and contemporary features and restructuring teacher education is being discussed accordingly. The purpose of this research is to examine published reports on these three elements - that is to say teacher competencies, education and educator- which are attached to each other and affect each other. In the study, the case study which is one of the qualitative research methods was employed. Resources and materials of the research consisted of published reports on teacher competencies, education and educators. The data in the research were obtained using “the document analysis”. The analysis method was applied to analyze the data. The data obtained from the research display that there must be a relationship, a concordance, a connection and a strong association and responsibilities between higher education institutions and schools. On the other hand, it has been observed in the analyzed reports that teacher education at the level of master’s degree and research-based teacher education outstand. Besides, right combination between theory and application in teacher education must be ensured, and abilities, qualities and specialization of teacher educators become important in order to provide high quality education and teaching. It was determined that the reports also gave wide coverage to qualities, competencies or standards of teachers. It has been observed that competencies such as problem solving and teamwork which are among the skills of the 21st century come into prominence.
