After World War I, the social devastation and the new world order have caused some reactions by artists as every part of the society. These reactions can be considered as Dadaism from the early 20th century, surrealistic and futuristic performances from the 1920s and 1930s, social and political groups, manifests and performances from the artists. This study is a screening model research that discusses the emergence and stages in the progression process of Performance Art that uses the body movements as expressions, was widespread in the 1960s and in 1970s gave prominence to the ideas and maintained in relation with the conceptual art. In the 1970s Performance Art has been accepted as a form of artistic expression, until today, it has developed in various geographies, in different ways and has appeared under a variety of titles such as Happening, Action Painting, Fluxus and Body Art. In this scope Performance Art continues to exist as an expression language that covers many areas such as, dance, music, theatre, poetry, video, the plastic arts and performed live in front of the audience especially by using the body acts. Besides the artists can get in contact with the larger groups directly at various locations and events with the support of sponsors.
