Abstract:

The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationship between counterproductive work behaviors and personality traits. In this research, survey method has been used. The surveys have been given to the participants with an explanation attached about the objective of the research and volunteer basis it is on. In this context, a survey, consisted of Goldberg (1992) and Spector vd. (2006) studies, has been applied to 228 fourth-year students of Health of School in Dumlupınar University. The data obtained from the research has been analyzed by using SPSS sofware. Research results have shown that conscientiousness factor, from Five Factor Model of Personality, is a valid precursor for the whole aspects of counterproductive work behaviors. Furthermore, these results have shown that openness, extraversion, and agreeableness factors are also valid precursors but for some aspects of counterproductive work behaviors. Meanwhile, the existence of negative oriented and significant relationships has been determined between the aspects of five factor model of personality and counterproductive work behaviors
