One of the most prominent features of Ancient Turkish Literature is that it has a religious character in respect of its content. On one hand, the classical poets enriched the poems they wrote, with religious content, one the other hand, they conveyed the religious proses in the form of poem, in order to make them easier to learn and memorise. In this mean, there are many literal works on the subjects as faith, history, language, legislation, written in form of poem. In literal term, the works which are written to teach basic religious knowledge as faith, rituels and ethics, are called as ‘Catechism in form of poem’ but the ones only about prayer are called as ‘Şurût-i Salât’. This research is about the literal work called Mukaddimetü li’s-Salât, belonged to a poet with nicname of Selîm, about whose identity there is no information in any sourceIn this study, we will offer some evaluations about the poet and his work, before giving the mesnevî text, in which there is some knowledge about ritual ablution, ritual washing and prayer, in the alphabet of today.
