As internet technology becomes widespread, a huge increase in the number of social media users is observed. Internet technologies, a little different from other mass media, exceeded the limit of time and space. Consequently, “life styles” that emerged in this new medium become widespread rapidly. While these life style tendencies become widespread, they may be out of cultural codes of the societies that they enter in. But also in this case, these tendencies, which are internalized by wide masses, are accepted by some of the individuals in the society and these individuals do not consider application of these tendencies harmful. Individuals sharing pictures of the food they’re eating or about to eat in any time of the day has become cross-border insanity as mentioned above. Although even mentioning what is eaten is considered to be a shame when looked from the perspective of local cultural codes, exhibiting the food that is about to be eaten creates a contradictious situation. The need of eating that is one of the basic needs of human beings is thought to become an indicator with reference to taken and shared photos. In the scope of the study, photos that take place in the social network web site, Foursquare, under the category of “food” and that is related to places that are best rated will be examined. While these photos are examined, answers to questions, how they are taken, what are their aspects, height of view, how framing is done and why this is preferred will tried to be searched.
