Bu çalışmada, revize edilen ortaokul matematik dersi öğretim programında önemli bir yer tutan matematiksel modelleme yönteminin, ortaokul matematik dersi beşinci sınıf doğal sayılarda işlemler konusunun öğretiminde öğrenci başarısına etkisinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemini, Erzurum’un bir devlet ortaokulunda beşinci sınıfta öğrenim gören, 44 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırmada, nicel araştırma yaklaşımı benimsenmiş olup ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desen uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri açık uçlu 20 sorudan oluşan bir başarı testi ve görüş anketinden elde edilmiştir. Başarı testi verileri nicel betimsel istatistik yöntemi ve SPSS yardımı ile görüş anketi ise betimsel istatistik yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmanın uygulama aşamasında, doğal sayılarda işlemler konusunun öğretimi, deney grubu olan A şubesine günlük hayat problemleri ile kontrol grubu olan B şubesine ise öğretim programının öngördüğü şekilde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Ayrıca süreç içerisinde iki şubeye ön-test ve son-test olarak matematiğe karşı görüş anketi uygulanmıştır. Çalışmanın verileri analiz edildiğinde, deney grubundaki öğrencilerin kontrol grubu öğrencilerine nazaran daha başarılı oldukları ve görüş anketine verdikleri cevaplarla dersin daha eğlenceli, işlenen konuların daha kalıcı hale geldiğini belirtmişlerdir. In this study, the aim is to evaluate the impact of the mathematical modeling method, which holds an important place in the revisioned secondary mathematical course curriculum, on the success of the student in the teaching of the subject of processes in the natural numbers of the fifth class of secondary mathematical course. The sample of the study consists of 44 students studying in the fifth class at an Erzurum state high school. In this study, the quantum research approach was adopted and the semi-experimental pattern of the pre-test-final test control group was applied. The data of the study was obtained from a success test and opinion survey consisting of an open-end 20 questions. Success test data is evaluated by quantum imaging statistical method and with the help of SPSS the opinion survey is evaluated by imaging statistical method. In the application phase of the research, the teaching of the subject of processes in natural numbers was carried out as provided by the curriculum, and the A branch, which is the experimental group, was carried out as provided by the curriculum, and the B branch, which is the control group, which is the daily life problems. In the course of the process, two branches were tested as a pre-test and a final-test for mathematics. When the data of the study was analyzed, the students in the experiment group noted that they were more successful than the control group students, and with the answers they gave to the opinion survey, the course became more fun, the subjects processed became more durable.
