Abstract:

The purpose of this study is to address the first divine poem in Novalis’ work “Hymnen an die Nacht” and the first part of Hölderlin’s poem “Brot und Wein” (Brot und Wein) in a cognitive-fenomenological approach and to reveal the way synesthesia works in these poems. The tendency of the poets to bring the depth of their self and minds in the form of sensation to excellence relates the work to multiple views. In this context, Maurice Merleau-Ponty's body theory; the Geneva Ecole's orientation to the core focuses of a particular poet's conscious content and state; the different viewpoint that Reuven Tsur has given to the phenomenon of cognitive summer/combination and literary synesthesia; finally, J. L. The influential work presented by Austin has been the basic views in the interpretation of the chosen poems. In the examined poems, many findings have been achieved related to the poet's consciousness, the frequency of releases in the flow of consciousness, the tendency toward extremisms and dreams, the changing/reversing mood, the desire to subdue the shape, the combination of the effectiveness of the mind with senses, the polarization of human-natural, spirit-body, physical-mental reality, and the rejection of artificial divisions. As a emotional and cognitive phenomenon, synesthesia has been observed to influence the perception form and to contribute to the processes of understanding/understanding. In the poems, synesthesia has gained more meaning in its supersensitive dimension.
