Abstract:

The aim of this research is to determine the attitudes of school managers towards sport. The universe of the study was formed by school managers working in the province of Bartın in the 2016-2017 educational year, while 125 school managers identified in accordance with the method of easy sampling. The research data was collected between 01.04.2016 and 31.05.2016. The data of the study was obtained by Shentürk (2012) and consisted of 25 questions and 3 subdimensions, "Sports-oriented attitude scale". The "t" test that the participants found a difference between their opinions by gender and the other variables, and the difference between their opinions by other variables, was performed by one-way variance analysis. The research has found that the school managers in the province of Bartin have a positive attitude towards the sport. In the tests to determine whether there is a difference according to the personal information of the managers who participated in the study and the scores they obtain from the scores, the variants of the managers "gender", "age", "children's number", "service year", "management service time", "sporting status", "sporting level" and their attitudes towards the sport found statistically significant differences, while the variants of "school type" did not find statistically significant differences. The "Sports Attitude Scale" and its subfactors show a distribution above the average, so the school managers have a high attitude towards the sport.
