Abstract:

The effects of globalization are felt first in the economy and then in every field of social life. Moreover, the developments in information communication technologies over the past twenty years have become one of the supporters of Marshall McLuhan’s “global village” expression. The invention of the internet, the spread of personal computers and the use of smart mobile devices, also observes changes in social movements. In many parts of the world, individuals from different sections of society use new media technologies to express their discomfort in issues such as economic problems, environmental and living conditions, authority regimes or human rights. This is because it sometimes promotes the voice of political power, sometimes ensures individuals to gather together in the physical and virtual environment. This situation can lead to the use of the various methods the political power applies to the management of social media tools through the traditional media tools, also on social media. In the first days of 2018 in Iran, individuals gathered on social media, transferred their reactions to the physical environment and met with the government’s hard measures. In this study, in relation to the mass movement in Iran in 2018, the method of content analysis of messages shared by users on Twitter was tried to evaluate on the agenda management theory.
