Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Akılcı Olmayan İnanç Empatik Eğilim ve Duygusal Zeka Düzeyleri Arasındaki İlişkinin İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinin akılcı olmayan inanç düzeyleri, empatik eğilim ve duygusal zekâ arasındaki ilişkinin bazı değişkenler açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modelindedir. Araştırmada veri toplama araçları olarak Empatik Eğilim Ölçeği, Bar-On Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği, Akılcı Olmayan İnançlar Ölçeği ve kişisel bilgi formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmaya 2016-2017 eğitim-öğretim yılında Necmettin Erbakan Üniversitesi ve Selçuk Üniversitesi’nde öğrenim görmekte olan 428 kız ve 172 erkek olmak üzere toplam 600 öğrenci katılmıştır. Katılımcıların yaş aralığı 19-22’dir. Verilerin analizi t-testi, Pearson momentler çarpım korelasyon ve çoklu doğrusal regresyon analizi tekniği ile yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın bağımlı değişkeni akılcı olmayan inançlar, bağımsız değişkenleri ise empatik eğilim ve duygusal zekâdır. Araştırmanın bulgularına göre erkek üniversite öğrencilerinin akılcı olmayan inançlar alt boyutlarından suçlama eğilimi puanları kız öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Kız öğrencilerin akılcı olmayan inançlar alt boyutlarından aşırı kaygı ve bağımlı olma alt boyutu puanları erkek öğrencilere göre anlamlı düzeyde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Diğer alt boyutlarda cinsiyete göre anlamlı bir farklılaşma bulunmamıştır. Akılcı olmayan inançlar ölçeği alt boyutları, duygusal zekâ ölçeği ana alt boyutları ve empatik eğilim arasında anlamlı ilişkiler bulunmuştur. Sonuçlar bazı duygusal zekâ alt boyutlarının ve empatik eğilimin akılcı olmayan inançların bazı alt boyutlarını yordadığını göstermektedir.

The aim of this study is to examine the irrational beliefs levels of university students, empathic tendency and emotional intelligence in terms of some variables. The research was done in the relative screening model. Empathic Tendency Scale, Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale, Irrational Beliefs Scale and personal information form were used as data collection tools. 428 female and 172 male students from NecmettinErbakan Unversity and Selcuk University participated in the study in 2016-2017 academic year. The data were analyzed by t-test, Pearson moment product correlation and multiple linear regression analysis. The dependent variable of the study is irrational beliefs and the independent variables are empathic tendency and emotional intelligence. According to the findings of the study, male university students' scores of guilt tendency, which are sub-dimensions of irrational beliefs, were found to be significantly higher than female students. On the other hand, female students' scores of overanxiety and dependence, which are also sub-dimensions of irrational beliefs, were found to be significantly higher than the male students. Significant relationships were found between the sub-dimensions of the non-rational beliefs scale, the main sub-dimensions of the emotional intelligence scale, and the empathic tendency.
