Abstract:

Bu araştırmanın amacı, matematik öğretmenlerinin ve öğretmen adaylarının olasılık konusuna ilişkin kavram yanılgılarıyla ilgili farkındalıklarını belirlemek ve bu kavram yanılgılarının düzeltilmesi için hangi yöntemlerin kullanılması gerektiği ile ilgili öğretimsel açıklamalarını incelemektir. Araştırma altı matematik öğretmeni ve bir devlet üniversitesinin ilköğretim matematik öğretmenliği programının 4. sınıfında öğrenim gören üç öğretmen adayıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırmada durum çalışması yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak dokuz sorudan oluşan görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda öğretmenlerin ve öğretmen adaylarının çoğunlukla, olumlu ve olumsuzluk sonralık etkisini, birleşim yanılgısını basit ve bileşik olaydaki kavram yanılgılarını fark edebildikleri görülmüştür.

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the knowledge of mathematics teachers and teaching candidates about the concept errors on the subject of probability and to study their teaching explanations on which methods should be used to correct these concept errors. The research was carried out by six mathematician teachers and three teachers candidates who studied in the 4th grade of the primary mathematical teaching program of a state university. In the study, the method of study was used. As a data collection tool, a conversation form consisting of nine questions was used. The study found that teachers and teachers candidates were often able to perceive the positive and negative follow-up effects, the combination errors, the simple and compound conceptual errors.

Abstract:

The aim of this study is to examine the awareness of mathematics teachers and preservice teachers on misconceptions related to the subject of probability and their instructional explanations about which methods should be used to correct these misconceptions. The study was carried out with six mathematics teachers and three preservice teachers studying in the 4th grade of a state university's secondary school mathematics teaching program. The case study method was used in the study. The interview form consisting of nine questions was used as the data collection tool. As a result of the research, it was determined that teachers and preservice teachers could generally identify the misconceptions related to a positive-negative regency effect, simple and compound events.
