Big History Project (BHP) Büyük Patlama'dan günümüze kadar olan tarihi, disiplinlerarası bir biçimde kapsayan pilot okullar, öğretmenler ve eğitimciler için oluşturulmuş ücretsiz ve çevrimiçi bir eğitim platformudur. Proje, lise öğrencileri arasında öğrenme konusunda daha büyük bir kapasite geliştirmeye adanmıştır. Projeyi destekleyenler arasında Bill Gates, David Christian ve Michigan Üniversitesi bulunmaktadır. BHP, dünyaya büyük bir resim sunmakta ve öğrencilerin okul içinde ve dışında öğrendiklerini anlamlandırmak için bir çerçeve geliştirmelerine yardımcı olmaktadır. Derslerde öğrencilere, yaklaşık 14 milyar yıl olan dünya tarihinde bugüne nasıl vardığımız ve gelecekte nelerle karşılaşabileceğimiz konusunda geniş bir perspektif sunulmaktadır.  2011 yılında 7 pilot okulda başlatılan çalışma, 2019 yılı itibariyle 1500'ün üzerinde okulda yaygınlaştırılmıştır. Bu okulların büyük bir bölümü Amerika'da bulunmaktadır. Programda yer alan öğrenciler okuma, yazma ve içerik bilgisinde net ve kanıtlanmış kazanımlar göstermektedir. Programın bu iddiasından ötürü son yıllarda İngiltere'deki okulların da bu programı uygulamaya geçtikleri görülmektedir. Bu başarıya rağmen BHP ve proje ana sponsoru Bill Gates müfredat sunumundan ötürü eleştirilmektedir.

The Big History Project (BHP) is a free and online training platform for pilot schools, teachers and educators covering the history from the Big Bang to the present in an interdisciplinary manner. The project is dedicated to building a greater capacity for learning history among high school students. Project supporters include Bill Gates, David Christian and the University of Michigan. BHP provides a great picture to the world and helps students develop a framework to make sense of what they learn inside and outside the school. The lessons provide students with a broad perspective on how we have reached today and what we can face in the future, which is around 14 billion years in world history. The study started in 7 pilot schools in 2011 and has been expanded to more than 1500 schools as of 2019. Most of these schools are located in America. Students in the program show clear and proven gains in reading, writing, and content knowledge. Because of this claim of the program, it is seen that schools in the UK have also implemented this program in recent years. Despite this success, BHP and the project’s main sponsor, Bill Gates have been criticized.
