Abstract:

Kastamonu has numerous caves, mainly due to its tectonic and climate properties, including the litological characteristics of the province. Ilgarini and Mantar caves in Pınarbaşı district, Sarpunalınca and Sisli-Gizemli caves in Devrekani district, Kuyluç caves in Shenpazar district and Cide district Kılıçlı caves are the headquarters of caves in the district. These caves have a significant tourist potential and are waiting to be evaluated. The Sword Cave is within the boundaries of the square district of the Chamdibi village connected to the Cide district of Kastomonu in the West Black Sea Division. The cave is located in Evliyaharman Rock Mevkii in the square district, about 26 km away from Cide district center. The height of the cave mountain is measured to 280 m above sea level. The Sword Cave is litologically developed within the Old Churches of the Upper Jura-Alt Kretase. The cave consists of three main galleries, separated in different sizes and with a distinctive inclination disappointment. There are a lot of lakes in these salons. With a total length of approximately 300 m, the cave contains shapes such as cave, cave, column, cave roses. The cave has a characteristic of a microclimate area according to its surroundings. The Sword Cave is also a semi-active cavern in hydrological terms. The Sword Cave has an important tourist potential in its own, primarily drops and lakes. With these characteristics, the cavern Kastamonu is a significant attraction in terms of cavern tourism. The cave's proximity to the Valla Canyon National Park increases its importance even more. No measures have been taken to assess the tourism potential of the cave. Climbing, lighting and walking paths are mainly needed to eliminate the shortcomings in which tourists who come to the place can travel the cave comfortably. However, all interventions that will bring the cave to tourism should be planned in a way that is compatible with the natural environment and does not lead to destruction in the cave.
