Abstract:

Foreign Language Teaching Methods, XX. After the second half of the century, with new developments, it entered a radical change and construction process. Today, the methods of teaching foreign languages, the data of the methods used in the past, the traditional methods, the current linguistic research and the new approaches in various fields are being tried to be achieved in an effective way. At the beginning of the work we think will serve this purpose, it comes to understanding the historic process of teaching Turkish to foreigners, determining the methods and defining them. In 1072 after the work of Divânü Lugâti't-Türk (All Turkish Dictionary) written by the Kaşgarlı Mahmud, the work of the Book'l-Idrak Li Lisânü'l-Etrak (Turkish Language Conception Book) which was written by the Esirü'd-din EbûHayyân in 1312 was a key source in this field and was the subject of study in our work. This research is an imaginary study aimed at studying the work "Kitabü'l-Idrak Li Lisânü'l-Etrak" to foreigners in terms of Turkish teaching. In the study, the results used by the content analysis to reveal the dictionary, morphological and text material of the work, the findings obtained were evaluated to foreigners in the context of the Turkish teaching. According to this, it can be said that Abu Hayyan, a major philologist of the era, used its own techniques and tried to teach the target language functionally, along with the methods that remain in force to teach Arabs Turkish.
