Gazzâli’ye Göre Niyet Eğitiminin Mahiyeti

Abstract:

    Niyet, eylemin değerini doğrudan tayin ettiğinden İslam düşünce geleneğinde farklı anlamlarıyla ele alınmıştır. Bu çalışma, İslam düşüncesinin önemli şahsiyetlerinden biri olan Gazzâlî’nin görüşleri esas alınarak niyet eğitimini gündeme getirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. İslam düşüncesindeki niyet ile ilgili anlayışlar, “niyet hadisi” olarak meşhur olan hadis etrafında gelişmiştir. Gelenekte niyetin eyleme sevk eden gaye ve eylemin kendisine yönelme anlam katmanlarına sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Gazzâlî, niyetin eylemleri birbirinden ayırma anlamında temyiz, eylemin niçin yapıldığı manasında gaye ve bilinçli olarak eyleme yönelerek onun sorumluluğunu üstlenme kavrayışlarını harmanlayarak kendine özgü bir niyet anlayışı geliştirmiştir. Ona göre niyet eğitimi insanı tanıma, kalp eğitimi ve niyetin ihlâsa dönüştürülmesi aşamalarından oluşmaktadır. Niyet, sadece Allah rızası gayesi ile eylemi gerçekleştirmenin yanı sıra doğru eylemin tercih edilmesi anlamına da gelmektedir. Gazzâlî’nin düşüncesinde niyet eğitimi, eylemin gayesine dair bilincin yanında hangi eylemin tercih edilmesi gerektiğini de kapsamaktadır. Çalışmamız literatür taraması kullanılarak İhyâ’ü ‘ulûmi’d-din adlı kitabı başta olmak üzere Gazzâlî’nin eserlerinin metin analizine dayanmaktadır. Elinizdeki metin, Gazzâlî’nin niyet anlayışının özellikle niyet eğitimi bağlamında Din Eğitimine yeni bir perspektif sunduğunu savunmaktadır.

The intention, as it directly determines the value of action, has been addressed in the Islamic thought tradition in different meanings. This study aims to plan the intention education based on the opinions of Gazzali, one of the important figures of Islamic thought. The understanding of the intention in Islamic thought has evolved around the hadith, which is known as the "intention hadith". In the tradition, it is seen that the intention of action and the action have layers of meaning toward it. In the words of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, ‘The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: In his opinion, intention training consists of the stages of recognition, heart training and the transformation of intention into infringement. The intention is to do the action only with the purpose of God’s pleasure, as well as to be preferred the right action. In the thought of Gazzali, the intention training also covers the consciousness of the purpose of the action, which action should be preferred. Our work is based on the text analysis of the works of Gazzâlî, primarily the book ‘Ihyâ’u ‘ulûmi’d-din’ using literary scan. The text in your hands claims that the understanding of the intention of Gazzali offers a new perspective to the Religious Education, especially in the context of the intention education.

Since intention (niyyah) directly supplies the value of action, it is taken to have different meanings and accordingly approached in different ways in the tradition of Islamic thought. This study aims to discuss and raise the subject of the meanings of intention from the point of view of Religious Education based on the views of al-Ghazzâlî one of the most important figures of Islamic thought. The idea of intentions in Islamic thought has evolved around the hadith, which is known as the “niyyah hadith”. In tradition, it is seen that the intention has the meaning layers that lead the action and the action itself. al-Ghazzâlî developed understanding of intent by distinguishing various acts of intention from each other, blending purpose (ghaye) as the intention of why the action is done with responsibility as the intention of consciously undertaking an action, and thereby developed an original body of thought on the issue. Accordingly, the training of one’s intention is made up of the following stages: understanding the human being, training of the heart and changing ones intention with sincerity (ikhlas). Niyyah denotes the realization of an action with the purpose of seeking Gods pleasure as well as the moral validity of the action. According to Ghazzali, intent education includes not only consciousness of action but also which action should be preferred. The literature review was used in our study and it is based on the text analysis of the works of al-Ghazzali, especially the book Ihya’ ‘ulum al-din. This study argues that al-Ghazzâlî’s vision of intention offers a new perspective to Religious Education, especially in terms of the conditions to properly choose ones intention.
