Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to contribute to the creation of the ideal form of scientific research and publication ethics course content which is situated in the postgraduate program in social sciences in Turkey.  The method followed in the study is based on content analysis of the courses of all the postgraduate programs in social sciences in Turkey and statistical analysis of the data obtained from the questionnaire applied to the students of Black Sea Technical University-Institute of Social Sciences. In the content analysis of the research, there is no unity of application in terms of scientific research and publication ethics in postgraduate programs; in the statistical analysis, it was determined that the students mainly focused on postgraduate education for the purpose of academic career, specialization and contributing to science. Based on these findings, the ideal content proposal for an independent course called as scientific research and publication ethics was discussed in the light of universal ethical codes and principles.
