Bu araştırmada lise öğrencilerinin rehberlik hizmetlerine ve metaforik kavramlarla rehber öğretmene ilişkin bakış açıları incelenmiştir. Araştırma 2017 – 2018 eğitim – öğretim yılında Adıyaman merkezde bulunan bir anadolu lisesinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma grubu çeşitli düzeyde sınıflarda öğrenim gören 99’u kadın 103’ü erkek olmak üzere toplam 202 lise öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Tarama modelinin benimsendiği araştırmada veriler; açık uçlu iki sorudan oluşan anketler aracılığıyla toplanmıştır. Anketlerin analizi ise içerik analiziyle yapılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgu ve sonuçlara göre; eğitsel, kişisel ve mesleki rehberlik hizmet alanlarından yararlanan lise öğrencileri, rehberlik hizmetlerini gerekli görmektedirler. Rehber öğretmenin rehberlik hizmetlerini sunma ve sorunlarının çözümüne destek sağlamada yetersiz kaldığını, dolayısıyla rehberlik hizmetlerinden yeteri kadar faydalanamadığını düşünen öğrenciler ise rehberlik hizmetlerini gereksiz olarak algılamaktadırlar. Araştırmanın diğer bir bulgusunda ise; rehber öğretmene ilişkin metaforik algıların, öğrencilerin rehberlik hizmetlerini gerekli ya da gereksiz görme durumuna göre farklılaştığı görülmüştür. Bu bağlamda rehberlik hizmetlerini gerekli gören lise öğrencileri rehber öğretmeni “sır saklayan, çok çalışan, sorunlara çözüm bulan, aydınlatan/yol gösteren, aileden biri gibi olan, kurtarıcı/yardım eden, dert dinleyen, rahatlatan/huzur veren ve arkadaş olan” gibi olumlu metaforlarla tanımlarlarken; rehberlik hizmetlerini gereksiz gören öğrenciler ise, “verimsiz, umursamayan, çözüm üretmeyen, yardımcı olamayan ve çok oturan” gibi olumsuz metaforlarla rehber öğretmeni tanımlamışlardır.
In this study, the perspectives of high school students on counseling services and guidance teachers with metaphorical concepts were examined. The research was carried out in 2017 - 2018 academic year in an Anatolian high school located in the center of Namıyaman. The study group consists of 202 high school students which are 99 female and 103 male students at various levels. The survey model has been adopted in the research. It was collected with questionnaires consisting of two open-ended questions. Questionnaires were analyzed by content analysis. According to conclusion and results obtained from the research; high school students who use education, personal and career counseling services required to counseling services. Students thinking the guidance teachers do not contribute to counseling service with respect to solving their problems, perceive counseling services unnecessarily for the reason that they cannot benefit from the opportunity of counseling services. The other conclusion of the study; the metaphorical perceptions of the differentiated according to the situation in which the students had to see the counseling services necessarily or unnecessarily. Finally, high school students who consider counseling services as required characterized guidance teachers with positive metaphors, whereas others characterized guidance teachers with negative metaphors.
