Halkevleri, 1932- 1951 yılları arasında faaliyet göstermiş ve yeni rejimin değerlerinin toplum tarafından benimsenmesi için çalışmıştır. Bu oluşum 1930’lu ve 1940’lı yıllara yaptığı çalışmalar ile damga vurmuştur. Halkevleri 19.02.1932’den itibaren 14 il merkezinde faaliyete girmiştir. Halkevleri ilçelerde de örgütlenmiştir. Bu halkevlerinden birisi de Milas Halkevi’dir. Türkiye’nin her yerinde açılan halkevleri şu şubelerden teşekküldür: “Dil, Tarih ve Edebiyat”, “Güzel Sanatlar”, “Temsil”, “Spor”, “İçtimai Yardım”, “Halk Dershaneleri ve Kurslar”, “Kütüphane ve Neşriyat”, “Köycüler”, “Müze ve Sergi”. Milas Halkevi de şubeleri vasıtasıyla halk eğitimi çalışmaları yapmıştır. Bu çalışma ile Milas Halkevi’nin kuruluşu ve çalışmaları ortaya konulmak istenmiştir. Bu çalışmanın hazırlanmasında Başbakanlık Cumhuriyet Arşivi, tetkik eserlerden ve süreli yayınlardan yararlanılmıştır. Çalışmanın oluşturulmasında nitel araştırma tekniklerinden birisi olan doküman inceleme modelinden faydalanılmıştır.

Milas Halkevi also performed public education work through the branches. This work has been asked to reveal the establishment and work of Milas Halkevi. In the preparation of this work the Prime Minister's Republic Archive, inspection works and periodic publications were used. In the creation of the study, one of the quality research techniques was used by the document review model.
