Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the communication skills of the Social Information teachers candidates in terms of various variables. The participants of the study, in the spring period of the 2017-2018 academic year, Aydin Adnan Menderes University and Uşak University's Faculty of Education's Social Information Teaching Department, formed 249 teachers candidates who studied in classes 1, 2, 3 and 4. In the study, the screening model was applied. For the research, first literature scan was done and then personal information form and communication skills inventory was collected data about the communication skills of the candidates for social information teachers. In the analysis of the data, t-test and one-way variance analysis were carried out. Based on the findings obtained from the research, it was found that the level of communication skills of social information teachers candidates was high, the behavioral communication skills scores were higher than the mental and emotional communication skills scores. While teachers’ communication skills differ significantly by gender, academic success, class level; it has been determined that the study does not differ significantly by high school, university, mother-father profession, family income level, brothers and sisters, the housing unit they have lived for a long time, and the frequency of use of technology.
