Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to identify the "qualifications that students of the Faculty of Education may be effective in their university preferences." In this context, this research is of importance for the determination of the main characteristics that are desired to be in universities and the criteria to be addressed in the assessment of the performance of universities. The study’s work group, 2013-2014 Education-Teaching year, forms a total of 307 students who are studying in the Turkish Teaching, Pre-School Teaching, Class Teaching and Science Information Teaching departments of the Faculty of Education of the University of Amasya. As the data collection tool of the research, the "University Preference Causes Self-Evaluation Form" was prepared. In the analysis of the data, Thurstone's comparative judicial law is based on the V. Hal and III. It has been performed through equality and two comparisons. When the findings obtained from the research are studied, V. Hal and III. There were little differences in the scale rankings according to the scale values obtained as a result of the measurement studies performed with the equality of the situation. However, the rankings of the most and the least preferred features are almost the same. The Faculty of Education is determined by the students "qualifications that may be effective in the university preferences"; when ranged from the most desired attributes to the least desired attributes; the most desired attributes are determined to have a "quality education". This feature follows, respectively, "the preference of their graduates in the business world", "the availability of foreign education opportunities", "the comfort of transportation opportunities". The latest feature that could be effective in the university’s choice is that “the library’s possibilities are sufficient.”
