Abstract:

JOHN CONSTABLE: YENİLİKTE GELENEK JOHN CONSTABLE: TRADITION IN INNOVATION ÖZET John Constable (1776-1837), kendi döneminde hiçbir öğretiye tam anlamıyla teslim olmamış; sanat için alışılmadık pratikler ve pek tanıdık olmayan terimlerle kendi sanatını tarif etmiş bir ressamdır. Onun için resim yapmak, hissetmek ile aynı anlama gelir. Constable resmi, batının yansıtmaya dayalı ilerleyen sanatına yeni bakış açıları kazandıracak buluşların ipuçlarıyla doludur. Çalışma yönteminde doğa gözlemine yoğunlaşması ve “doğa bilimsel deneyler” dediği bu yöndeki doğa temelli pratikleri ile duyumu ilk sezen doğayı içindeymişçesine yaşatan, duygu yüklü görsel dilini yaratmıştır. Gelenekle hesaplaşmaları ise onu, 'Manzara' tür resminde, hem gelenek hem de yeniliği bir arada barındırabilen ismi yapar. Constable'ın yenilikte geleneği yaşatabilmesi ya da gelenek içinde yeniliği yaratabilmesi, onun sanatını bugüne taşıyan, ayırt edici bir özelliğidir. Bu noktada onun, geçmişte; belli bir tarihsel konumda kendine yer açmış olan, derslerle dolu sanatı, merak konusu olmaya devam edecektir. Anahtar Kelimeler: John Constable, Doğa, Manzara Resmi, Yenilik, Gelenek SUMMARY John Constable (1776-1837) is a painter who defined his work through unexpected and original practical ways and unheard terms; he was not completely surrendered to any teaching. For him, painting equals feeling. Constable painting is full of clues about inventions that contributes to the reflection-based progressing art of the West. His method of concentrating on nature observations and practices of nature-based foundations, which he called “nature scientific experiments”, led him to sense the nature as if he is in it, and in this way he created an emotionally intensive visual language. His reckoning with tradition made him a name who combines the traditional with the innovative in the Landscape type painting. Constable's ability to let tradition exist in innovation or to let innovation exist in tradition is a distinctive aspect that carries his work forward (links it to the present). In this sense, his art of the past, full of lessons, which opened a space of recognition and success in a specific historical position, will keep becoming an object of interest.
