Abstract:

Abstract enDerviş Zaim has been accepted as a writer and a director , who has a cinematography with his own style and narration components in his movies. From his first feature-length movie, “Tabutta Rövaşata” (1996), the director has made his mark in all of his works of art up to now by developing his own way of style. From this aspect, the movies of Zaim have established a specific cinema language by breaking the standard patterns which are forced by the commercial oppression. The main components which make up the common style of the director’s movies can be classified as characters, location, society, history, culture, symbols and metaphoric narration inspired by myths, tradition, nature-human relationship and art. The study attempts to clarify how the director reflects his characteristic style into his movies and writes his scenario with a comparative analysis of his eight movies which were both produced and directed by him
