Abstract:

Universities make an effort for raising intellectual individuals with social and cultural background besides minding students’ educational needs as educational institutions. In that respect, our main aim is to raise individuals who have ability to interpret the present and the future by deducing from the past with their historical background. To achieve this goal, it is inevitable for universities to use new educational places and methods which are required to use in modern time. As a consequence, new progress has been achieved; especially after 19th century, museums have become an institution from which universities as modern educational places benefit, and beyond that, universities have started to establish museums in their body. So, İnönü University is one of the best examples with its three private museums, two of which are officially registered by The Ministry of Culture and Tourism. In this study, I will give information about İsmet İNÖNÜ Museum, Turgut ÖZAL Museum and İnönü University Museum, all of which are located in central campus.
