This study, aimed to evaluate the news’ aboutstreet and working children in daily newspapersaround the country and determine the newspapers mode towards street and working children. In this study, 18 daily newspapers belonging toNovember 2004 at 19 Mayıs University Library and Ankara National Library were searched for the news’ about street and working children, and their mode towards the street and working children was tried to be determined. Of the 167 texts, 83.7% were in newscharacters and 40.3% were judicial news. It was seen that, street and working children were most frequently described as substance user (44.3%) and the most frequently reason was migration from the southeast of the country (48.0%). While, it was mentioned that a solution is needed for street and working children, only in 6.0% of them stressed that street children should not be seen an a target in the society.It’s thought that written press should open their pages to discuss the realistic solutions for street and working children and try to attract the publicattention on this subject without labelling the children.
