Bu çalışmanın amacı Türk öğrencilerin “sığınmacı” kavramlarına yönelik algılarını metaforlar yolu belirlenmesi ve değerler eğitimi bağlamında değerlendirilmesidir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemi olgubilim deseni kullanılmıştır. Çalışmaya ulaşılabilir örnekleme yöntemi ile 110 öğrenci gönüllü olarak katılmıştır. Verilerin toplanmasında araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilmiş metafor formu kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel ve içerik analizleri tercih edilmiştir. Analizlerin yorumlanması sonucunda sığınmacı kavramına yönelik en çok tekrarlanan ilk üç metaforun çocuk, misafir ve kuş olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu metaforlar korunmaya muhtaç, ilgi ve sevgi ihtiyacı olan, geri dönme ve yerlerini yurtlarını terk etme gibi özelliklerinden dolayı verildiği tespit edilmiştir. Elde edilen metaforlar “İhtiyaç sahibi olma”, “Köklerini ve özgürlüklerini kaybetme”, “Yeniliklere sebep olma”, “Olumsuz Özelliklere Sahip Olma”, “Korku duygusuna sahip olma”, “Bilinmeyen özelliklere sahip olma”, “Eğitilebilir olma” ve “Barış özelliklerine sahip olma” kategorileri altında toplanmıştır. Ayrıca sınıf düzeyinde yapılan karşılaştırmalı analiz neticesinde düşük sınıf düzeyindeki öğrencilerin sığınmacılara yönelik daha olumlu görüş belirttikleri sınıf düzeyi arttıkça sığınmacılara yönelik daha olumsuz görüşler belirttikleri sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, elde edilen bulgulara paralel olarak, öğrencilerin sahip olduğu olumsuz metaforların silinmesinde ve olumlu metaforların pekiştirilmesinde değerler eğitimin faydalı olacağına inanılmaktadır.
The aim of this study is to identify the metaphors and evaluate the perceptions of Turkish students towards the concepts of “asylum” in the context of the education of values. The method of research is used in the study. 110 students participated voluntarily with the method of sampling accessible to the study. In the collection of data, the metaphor form developed by researchers was used. In the analysis of data, visual and content analyses are preferred. As a result of the analysis, the first three most repeated metaphors for the refugee concept were children, guests and birds. These metaphors have been found to be given because of their characteristics such as the need for protection, the need for interest and love, the return and the departure of their places. The metaphors obtained were gathered under the categories "To be Needed", "To lose its roots and freedoms", "To cause novelty", "To have negative qualities", "To have a feeling of fear", "To have unknown qualities", "To be educated" and "To have peace qualities". The comparative analysis at the class level also found that the lower class students expressed more positive opinions about refugees as the class level increased, the more negative opinions about refugees. According to the research, parallel to the findings obtained, it is believed that the education of values will be beneficial in eliminating the negative metaphors that students have and consolidating the positive metaphors.
