Abstract:

The aim of the study is to identify the psychosocial problems of adolescents living in a single-parent family, assessing the feelings and thoughts of young people about their parents, and to reveal the needs of young people for psychosocial support. In the study, half-structured interviews were conducted, open-end survey questions and deep-interview techniques were used, document review technique was used. The analysis and interpretation of the data of the research was carried out through semi-structured discussions. The working group defines their parents as unhappy, sad and aggressive parents who experience a feeling of lack because they are not married, and who often do not take care of themselves and their children sufficiently and consciously. When they experience feelings of fear, sadness, loneliness, they most support their mothers. Single-parent youth indicates that they have limitations in providing participation in social activities. They say their parents will feel happy when they understand themselves. The study found that the condition of being a single parent in adolescence leads to different reactions, that it does not differ by gender, that the problems of being a single parent are often seen, primarily social, psychological and economic problems. In this context, the work aimed at relieving the problems of single-parents families and adolescents living in such a environment becomes important.
