Aile, toplumun temel taşıdır. Alenin ayakta kalması toplumun ayakta kalması ile doğru orantılıdır. Toplumun geleceği olan sağlıklı nesillerin yetişmesi muhakkak ki bir arada yaşayan aile ortamında mümkün olmaktadır. Bu sebeple İslam, evlenmeye, aile yuvası kurmaya, çocuk sahibi olmaya ve bu çocukları en güzel şekilde yetiştirerek topluma dâhil etmeye büyük önem vermiştir. Bunu sağlamak için de öncelikle evliliğin önündeki engelleri mümkün olduğunca ortadan kaldırmak istemiştir. Ayrıca evlilik sürecinde ortaya çıkacak olan problemler karşısında bir taraftan hukuki tedbirler alırken diğer taraftan yaşanan problemler karşısında eşlere teselli vererek onları bir arada tutmayı daima ön plana almıştır. Fıtri bir din olan İslam, her ne kadar boşanmayı hoş görmese de yaşanan problemlerin, aile birliğini imkânsız hale getirdiği durumlarda, tarafların karşılıklı hak ve sorumlulukları gözetmek suretiyle ayrılmalarına da imkân sağlamıştır. Bunu yaparken de yine tarafların ve çocukların hem maddi hem manevi anlamda zarar görmelerine müsaade etmeden, onları teselli edici bazı tedbirleri almak suretiyle gerçekleştirmiştir. Böyle yaparak toplumun huzurunu teminat altına almak istemiştir.

For this reason, Islam has attached great importance to getting married, establishing a family home, having children and including these children in society by raising them in the best way possible. In order to achieve this, she first wanted to remove the obstacles to marriage as much as possible. In addition, while taking legal measures to keep the family together in the face of the problems that may arise during the marriage process, on the other hand, keeping them together by consoling the spouses in the face of the problems experienced has always been in the foreground. Islam, which is a natural religion, does not tolerate divorce, but in cases where problems make family unity impossible, it has also enabled the parties to separate by observing mutual rights and responsibilities. In doing so, she did so by taking some comforting measures, without allowing the parties and children to suffer both material and moral damage. By doing so, she wanted to ensure the peace of the society.
