Abstract:

The purpose of the study is to investigate the levels of understanding of the scientific process skills of the teaching candidates studying in the classroom teaching program and the predictions of the teaching members on the responses of the teaching candidates. A visual model was used in the study as it was aimed at revealing a situation. The first study group of the study consists of 68 teachers candidates who study in the third class of a state university’s class teaching bachelor’s program, and the second study group consists of 5 teachers who work in the same faculty and conduct courses related to science. As a data collection tool, the researchers prepared a view form consisting of twelve open end questions and the grouped answers of the teacher candidates were used. Imaginary analysis method has been used for the analysis of the collected data. The observation, classification, measurement, data collection, data recording, experimental design-making and data interpretation skills are based on the written answers to the opinion form. Some of the teachers have written responses to the questions asked. The teacher’s expectations of the teacher’s answers are different. The study found that although the level of understanding of the teachers' candidates' scientific process skills was sufficient, there were significant deviations between the teachers' predictions and the percentage of the answers that the teachers' candidates wrote.
