Mâtürîdî (ö. 333/944), tefsirinde kırâatleri işlerken kendine özgü bir yol izlemekte, ihtiyaç duydukça kırâat içerikli malzeme/rivâyetler kullanmaktadır. Görüldüğü kadarıyla o, âyetleri açıklamada, yorumlamada sahabe kırâatlerinden yararlanmaktadır. Onun, sahabenin önde gelenlerinden biri olan İbn Mes’ûd’un kırâatlerine yer vermiş olması; onu, fikri tecrübesinden yararlanılması gereken bir şahsiyet olarak gördüğünü göstermektedir. Müfessirimiz, İbn Mes’ûd kırâatinin, kırâatlerin son biçimi olduğunu ifade ederek, ondan vazgeçmenin ve onu görmezden gelmenin doğru bir tercih olmayacağını belirtmektedir. He mentioned the qiraat of Ibn Mas’ud, who was one of the leading names of Companions; It shows that he saw Ibn Mas’ud as a person whose intellectual experience should be benefited from. He indicated that the qiraat of Ibn Mes’ud is the last form of qiraat and ignoring it and giving up on it would not be a right choice. Maturidi used the qiraat of Ibn Mas’ud as an explanotary element to explain and interpret the meaning of the verses in general and to identify possible meanings.
