Abstract:

The human being has used the symbols since its existence. For centuries they have been in creations using symbols to express their feelings and thoughts in many areas, including in architectural structures, religious elements, traditional crafts and plastic arts. Each society has made a part of its life by putting meaning on symbols in its own culture or on the basis of universal culture. This study aims to study from cultural, sociological, psychological and philosophical aspects to reveal the meaning and importance of the apartment form in the Anatolian territory and in the Turkish culture as a geometric form. The research subject is based on the place and areas of application of the apartment form in the process that exists on the Anatolian territory and in the Turkish culture from the past to the present. In research, the quality research method was used. Literature was scaned and the documents were collected, the theoretical analysis was made through the fields of use as a symbol of the apartment form. This research has been attempted to be presented by examining the process that has been extended from yesterday to today through the sample of apartment forms as a symbol in Anadolu.
