The use of various activities in the classroom is very important in the language teaching process. Thanks to the events, the increased active participation of students can make a significant contribution to the achievement of different skills. From this context, class activities are prepared and applied in courses with the aim of developing different language skills in the language teaching process. The creation of a discussion environment on current topics, different activities such as drama and brain storm are very useful in foreign language teaching, creating positive effects on the learning atmosphere in the classes. As a foreign language in Turkish teaching, various class activities are prepared and used by teachers, but there are no clear findings about how much the preferences of the students are taken into account when the choice of what kind of activities will be created and used in the class is made. Furthermore, there is also no sufficient field research on what kind of similarities and differences there are between the preferences of students and teachers towards the activities used in the classroom. Therefore, this research aims to reveal the preferences of students and teachers towards the use of their classroom activities in Turkish teaching as a foreign language. In this context, a survey was implemented to determine the preferences of students and teachers who are trained in this field regarding the activities carried out in the classroom. This survey consists of 54 questions prepared on a Likert-type scale of 6 and open-end questions were asked to the participants in addition to these questions in order to identify their views on the activities in the survey. After the survey phase, the analysis of the participants’ answers was done with the T-Test in the SPSS program and the preferences for each class activity were compared and the comparisons and differences between the student-learer preferences were evaluated. According to the findings, 17 of the 54 class activity identified in the study were significantly incompatible. On the other hand, when the rest of the events are studied, it has been found that there is a general harmony between the activities that students want to do within the classroom and the activities that teachers use.
