Abstract:

The research was carried out with the aim of determining the perceptions of teachers candidates about the scientist and scientist. The study was conducted by 83 scientists who studied in the last class. The data was collected using the four-end question forms prepared by researchers on the Scientist Chart Test and the scientist Chart Test developed by Chambers (1983) and the four-end question forms prepared by researchers on the scientist Chart. The drawings of the participants were analyzed using the Scientist Drawing Control List and the Drawing Analysis Categories List created by the researchers. The research finds that the teaching candidates’ scientific images show a traditional structure. The scientist is generally perceived as a man with glasses, prey, broken hair, old, lonely, male and working in the laboratory. One of the greatest differences between female and male teacher candidates in the drawings is that men mainly performed male scientist drawing. Also, teachers candidates have defined science more with their development and size qualifications. Keywords: science; science man; painting; teacher candidate.
