Sovyetler Birliği’nin dağılmasının ardından Rusya, ABD ve Çin başta olmak üzere büyük devletler arasında Orta Asya’da kontrolü sağlamak amacıyla yoğun bir mücadele yaşanmıştır. Yıllar önce Rusya ve İngiltere arasındaki rekabete sahne olan ve bu rekabetten büyük sıkıntılar yaşayan Orta Asya bu defa farklı devletlerin de dâhil olması ile yeni bir güç çekişmesine maruz kalmıştır. Stratejik konumu ve sahip olduğu enerji kaynakları ile önemli bir bölge olan Orta Asya’nın soğuk savaş sonrasında önemi daha çok artmıştır. Bu coğrafya, çevre üzerindeki güçlerin nüfuz için rekabet ettiği, aynı zamanda üzerindeki devletlerin kendilerinin de aktif oyuncu olduğu bir bölge haline gelmiştir. Bu dönemde Orta Asya’da politik, ekonomik, etnik, dini ve sosyal zorluklar yaşanmıştır. Orta Asya ve Güney Kafkasya bölgeleri için gerçekleştirilen jeopolitik savaş, Rusya’nın yeniden bölgede üstünlük kurması noktasında büyük önem taşımıştır. Çalışmada Orta Asya ve Hazar Denizi bölgesindeki jeostratejik ve jeoekonomik rekabetin yanı sıra bu alanlardaki mevcut stratejik ve ekonomik ilişkiler incelenmiştir.
After the disintegration of the Soviet Union, there was an intense struggle between Russia, the USA and China, especially among the major states, in order to maintain control in Central Asia. Central Asia, which witnessed the rivalry between Russia and Britain many years ago and suffered greatly from this competition, was exposed to a new power struggle with the inclusion of different states. Central Asia, an important region with its strategic location and energy resources, has gained more importance after the Cold War. This geography has become a region where the forces on the environment compete for influence and at the same time the states themselves are active players. During this period, political, economic, ethnic, religious and social difficulties were experienced in Central Asia. The geopolitical war against Central Asia and the South Caucasus has been of great importance for Russia's re-establishment in the region. In this research, geostrategic and geostrategic competition as well as the existing strategic and economic relations in Central Asia and Caspian Sea are examined.
