Abstract:

With the development of information and communication technologies and adaptation to the city life, cities have become smart. It can be said that smart cities arise from a necessity and a vision accordingly. Because the presence of problems such as the density of the population living in urban areas, environmental pollution, lack of resources, broken urbanization, security and traffic confusion puts pressure on cities at the point of solution. To get rid of this pressure, to manage the process and to improve the standards of life, urban governments are going on the way to integrate the "IoT" devices into the services and services they offer. Thus, with the help of IoT in cities, many urban public services are automated, making them more efficient and efficient. But the city becoming smart offers the cities a variety of opportunities, and it also brings with it a number of challenges and threats. Intelligent cities equipped with IoT, especially in the city, in addition to the improvement of the quality of life of the citizens, serious cybersecurity issues are also faced. The aim of the study in this context is to study the positive and negative impact of technological advancements on cities through IoT-based smart cities. In this context, the study first studied the concept and components of smart cities, then the impact of technological developments on cities was assessed in the context of opportunities and threats.
