This study was carried out to determine the social effects of physical activity as a recreational activity on children with autism spectrum disorder. The examples of the current research are the parents of autistic children registered in the Samsun Disabled and Disabled Unit in the 2019-2020 years and the families of autistic children educated in rehabilitation centers. The sample of the study is made by the parents of 100 children with autism who are volunteer to respond to the scale expressed in their medical reports and used in the study at the same developmental level. The "Social Skills Assessment Scale" was developed by Avcıoğlu (2007) as a data collection tool. The study found differences in socialization between autistic children who participate in physical activity as recreational activities and autistic children who do not participate in sports activities. According to the data obtained, autistic children who participate in physical activity show more socialization than autistic children who do not exercise. The study confirmed the hypothesis that sports make a difference in socialization of autism children. When examining the state of physical activity, there is a significant difference in the benefit of those who participate in physical activity in all subdimensions (p<0,05). As a result, this study compared the socialization levels of autistic children who participate in physical activities as recreational activities and who do not participate in physical activities, concluded that physical activities have a positive impact on socialization, basic social skills, basic communication skills, the ability to work with the group and the ability to self-control.
