Abstract:

The aim of this study is to illustrate the effectiveness of research done in the field of special training related to self-management strategies in Turkey. In the framework of the study, EBSCO Host, National Academic Network and Information Center (ULAKBIM), Magazine Park, TR Dizin and Higher Education Institute (YÖK) National Thesis Center data bases were scanned using the Turkish "self-management strategies", "self-determining goals", "self-previousing", "self-orientation", "self-following", "self-evaluation", "self-confirming", "special-needed individual" and "single-equivalent research" keywords. The criteria for the inclusion of the studies are: (a) conducting with special needs individuals, (b) the use of the teaching method in which the self-management strategy/strategies are involved in the study, (c) designing with one of the single-parallel research models, (d) accessing full texts in English and/or English in electronic databases, and (e) publishing between January 2002 and September 2022. The results of the detailed studies were analyzed by 16 research coverage. When the findings were studied, the effectiveness studies conducted with self-management strategies in Turkey were found that most of them included individuals with special needs in school age 7-18 years, and more than half of the participating group consisted of students with mental insufficiency. It has also been found that self-tracking is the most commonly used strategy, that paper-based materials are preferred for self-management strategies and that strategies are effective in achieving target skills.
