Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to study the various aspects of the graduate theses related to physical education in our country between 2000-2017 years. In the study of the theses, the method of content analysis was used. These examined theses were taken from the data base of the YÖK National Thesis Center among the theses that can be obtained using keywords such as physics, physics education, physics teaching. The study examined 226 undergraduate theses related to physical education. The analysis of the data results are shown by percentage and frequency tables. When the data related to the reviewed postgraduate theses are examined, a remarkable increase has occurred, especially since 2004. The need for a master’s, if necessary, doctoral thesis has been found to take the first place in the methods of detecting conceptual errors and correcting conceptual errors by various methods. There are also very few studies that have been done with graduate students while most of them are high school students as examples in their postgraduate theses. As a data collection tool, the most successful tests, attitude tests, and conversations were found to be used by very few alternative assessment tools. When examined in the fields frequently studied in the examined theses, it was found that the basic physics subjects, electricity, dynamics and light sound subjects, while the modern physics, thermodynamics and astronomy subjects were not given much place.
