Abstract:

This study is a type of relational scan conducted in order to study the relationship between the effective communication skills of the Turkish teacher candidates and the questioning skills. The universe of research is formed by candidates for Turkish teachers studying in the spring semester of the 2018-2019 academic year in the main discipline of Turkish education of a state university. The sample of the study consists of 238 students, which were determined by a simple, unselective sample method. In the research, the Invention, Atan and Erten Sarıkaya (2017) developed Effective Communication Skills Scale and the Survey Skills Scale developed by Aldan Karademir and Saracaloğlu (2013) were used. In the framework of validity analyses of measurements, substance analysis, disclaimer factor analysis and scale correlation analysis were carried out. Before the analysis of the data, it was checked whether the data was normally distributed or not. Due to the normal distribution of data, t-test for independent samples was used in the comparison of two groups and one-way variance analysis in the comparison of more than two groups. To determine the relationship between the two constant variables, the Pearson Moment Relationship Correlation Score was used. According to the results of data analysis, there is a positive-sensitive relationship between the effective communication skills of the Turkish teacher candidates and the questioning skills. The study also found that the effective communication and questioning skills of the teacher candidates showed significant differences in certain variables according to gender and class variables.
