Abstract:

This research aims to identify the problems experienced by the servant class working in primary education in the school environment. The research was written using the phenomenology method, one of the qualitative research methods. The study group of the research consists of 10 servants working at different levels in Bağlar district of Diyarbakır province. Maximum variation sampling technique was preferred as the most appropriate for sample selection. The data were obtained by interview method and a semi-structured interview form was used to obtain the opinions of the participants. The research was conducted in the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year. The opinions were formed within the framework of five sub-problems related to the problems experienced by the servants. As a result of the research, they expressed many problems such as the employment of the servants in jobs that are not their duties, the school administrators do not act fairly while distributing the duties, the arrival and departure times of the servants to the school are not clearly stated, the teachers complain to the school administration and use the servants in their private affairs, and finally, the insufficiency of the rest and material rooms of the servants in the schools.
