Abstract:

Many of the cities were established by Muslims during the Islamic rule in Endulus. Mecrit, one of these cities, has the characteristic of being the only city established by the Muslims among the European capitals in 1561 and the capital of the Kingdom of Spain in 1561. In the north of Endulus, the Kingdom of Castilla-León was established in the period of Emir I Mohammed, ruler of the Endulus Empire, in order to ensure the security of the endulus lands against the Kingdom of Castilla-León. Mecrît, which was founded as a garnizon in the second half of the century, has soon become a city where the settlements surrounded. According to the administrative structure of Endulus, Mecrît, located in the region of Sağrülevsat (Middle Border), has become a city where scientific activities take place in a short time with the advantage of the geographical proximity of Tuleytula (Toledo), which is politically and culturally the most important city of Endulus, and has grown to the worlds known as the "el-Mecrîtî" proportion. In the period when the pressure of the Kingdom of Castile on the territory of Endulus increased and finally joined the territory of the kingdom called Tuleytula, Mecrith was among the places where the Muslims lost. This article aims to study the process that begins with the establishment of Mecrît in the Islamic domination period and becomes an Islamic city in the political and scientific center of life.
