Bulgaristan, 750 bin ile 1 milyon arasında olan Türk nüfusu ile Türklerin en yoğun yaşadığı Batı Trakya ülkesidir. Bu nedenle orada yaşayan Türk çocuklarının eğitim ve kültür sorunları geçmişten bugüne önem arz etmektedir. Ülkedeki Türkçe ana dili dersleri 1999’dan bu yana devam etse de ders saatlerinin yetersizliği vb. çeşitli engeller nedeniyle Türkçe eğitimi yeterli olmamaktadır. “Mozaik” dergisi bu eksikliğin giderilmesi amacı ile 2007-2012 yılları arasında Şumnu Nazım Hikmet Kültür Evi bünyesinde çıkarılmış Türkçe bir dergidir. Bu çalışmada “Mozaik” dergisinin ilk 40 sayısı, Türkçe eğitimi ve kültür aktarımı açısından değerlendirilmiştir. Amaç dergiyi bilimsel ölçütler ışığında inceleyerek Türkçe ve Türk kültürünün kazanılmasına ne derecede katkılar sağladığını ortaya koymak, varsa eksikliklerini tespit ederek bu tür yayınların yaygınlaşmasına vesile olmaktır. Mozaik çocuk ve gençlik dergisinin tüm sayıları tasnif edildikten sonra içeriği MEB Türkçe dersi ve Yurt dışındaki Türk çocukları için hazırlanan Türkçe ve Türk Kültürü Öğretim Programı kazanımları, dış yapısı Talim Terbiye Kurulunun Türkçe Ders Kitabı İnceleme Ölçütlerine göre incelenerek yorumlanmıştır.
