ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN SPORLA İLGİLİ METAFORİK ALGILARI VE SPOR ETKİNLİĞİ DERSİ

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı spor etkinliği dersindeki üniversite öğrencilerinin spor kavramıyla ilgili algılarını metafor metodu kullanarak belirlemektir. Bu çalışma spora yönelik algıları ortaya çıkarması yönüyle nitel araştırma desenlerinden olan Olgubilim kapsamında yapılmıştır. Çalışma grubu, 2018 yılı bahar döneminde Gazi Üniversitesi Diş Hekimliği Fakültesi 1. Sınıfta öğrenim gören ve spor etkinliği dersi alan 51’i kadın ve 55’i erkek olmak üzere toplam 108 üniversite öğrencisinden oluşmaktadır. Veri toplamak amacıyla araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilen 4 maddelik form kullanılmıştır. Veri toplama formu yardımıyla toplanan nitel veriler, içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. İçerik analizi yoluyla birbirine benzer ifadeler uygun kategoriler altında bir araya getirilerek sunulmuştur. Veri toplama formunun ilk maddesinde öğrenciler sporu betimleyen 306 kelime ifade etmişlerdir. Bu kelimeler beş temel kategori altında toplanmıştır. Bu kategoriler: Hareket ve Sağlık (%34) Sportif Terim ya da Kişiler (%26) Olumlu Özellikler, Duygu ve Deneyimler (%26) Olumsuz Deneyim ve Duygular (%6) ve Sosyal Çevre (%6) kategorisidir. İkinci maddede öğrenciler 94 metafor üretmişlerdir. Üretilen metaforlara göre sekiz kategori oluşturulmuştur. Bu kategoriler: Rahatlama (%26) Hayat (%21) Faydalı ve Öğretici (%17) Vazgeçilmez (%9) Duruma Göre Farklı Etkileri Olan (%9) Sağlık (%8) Arkadaş (%5) Gereksiz ve Yorucu (%2) kategorisidir. Üçüncü maddede öğrenciler 105 metafor üretmişlerdir. Üretilen metaforlara göre 3 kategori oluşturulmuştur. Bu kategoriler: Olumlu duygular (%91) Olumsuz Duygular (%7) Değişkenlik (%1) kategorisidir. Dördüncü maddede ise öğrenciler dersin daha iyi işlenmesine yönelik17 farklı öneri getirmişlerdir. Sonuç olarak spor kavramının çoğunlukla olumlu algılandığı görülse de olumsuz algıların da var olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Bu yüzden beden eğitimi ve spor dersleri işlenirken hem bu olumsuz algılar hem de öğrencilerin makul önerileri mümkün olduğunca dikkate alınmalıdır.

Abstract:

The objective of this study is to determine the perceptions of the university students in the course of sports activity about the concept of sport using the metaphor method. This study was conducted within the framework of Olgubilim, which is a quality research pattern in order to reveal perceptions towards sport. The study group, the Faculty of Dentistry of Gazi University in the spring period of 2018 1. There are a total of 108 university students, including 51 women and 55 men, who are studying in the classroom and taking sports activity classes. 4 material forms developed by the researcher for the purpose of gathering data were used. Qualitative data collected with the help of the data collection form is studied by the method of content analysis. Through content analysis, similar expressions are presented by gathering in appropriate categories. In the first article of the data collection form, students expressed 306 words that describe the sport. These words are gathered in five basic categories. These categories are: Movement and Health (34%); Sports Terms or Persons (26%); Positive Characteristics, Emotions and Experiences (26%); Negative Experiences and Emotions (6%) and Social Environment (6%). In the second article, students produced 94 metaphors. According to the produced metaphors, eight categories are created. These categories are: Relaxation (%26); Life (%21); Useful and Teacher (%17); Untold (%9); Has Different Effects (%9); Health (%8); Friends (%5); Unnecessary and Fatigue (%2) categories. In the third article, students produced 105 metaphors. According to the produced metaphors, there are 3 categories. These categories are: Positive emotions (%91); Negative emotions (%7); Variability (%1) categories. In the fourth article, students presented 17 different suggestions to improve the course process. As a result, the concept of sport is often seen as positive, but there are also negative perceptions. Therefore, when processing body training and sports courses, both these negative perceptions and the reasonable recommendations of students should be taken into account as much as possible.

The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of the students of sport activity lesson related to sport concept by using metaphor method. This study was conducted within the scope of the phenomenological method, which is one of the qualitative research designs. Because the phenomenological method aims to determine the experiences, perceptions and meanings of individuals about a phenomenon. The study group consisted of 108 university students, 51 female, and 55 male, who selected the Sports activity lesson in the spring of 2018. These students were studying at 1st class the Faculty of Dentistry of Gazi University.A 4-item form developed by the researcher was used to collect data. The collected qualitative data were analyzed by content analysis method. Expressions that are similar to each other through content analysis, opinions are gathered and presented under certain categories. In the first item of the data collection form, the students expressed 306 words describing the sport. These words were grouped under five basic categories. These categories are: Movement and Health (34%); Sportive Terms or People (26%); Positive Features, Emotions and Experiences (26%); Negative Experiences and Emotions (6%) and Social Environment (6%).In the second item, the students produced 94 metaphors. Eight categories were created according to the metaphores produced. These categories are: Relaxation (26%); Life (21%); Useful and Tutorial (17%); Indispensable (9%); Different Effects According to Situation (9%); Health (8%); Friend (5%); Unnecessary and Tiring (2%) category. In the third item, the students produced 105 metaphors. Three categories were created according to the metaphores produced. These categories are: Positive emotions (91%); Negative Emotions (7%); Variability (% 1) category. In the fourth item, the students brought 17 different proposals.As a result, it has been seen that sport concept is mostly perceived positively. However, negative perceptions have also been found. Therefore, both the negative perceptions and the reasonable suggestions of the students should be taken into consideration when studying physical education and sports.
