Abstract:

The concept of happiness, which was founded until ancient times, has attracted the attention of many people, including philosophers. There are many studies on happiness in every field, from philosophy to literature, from psychology to education. For the first time, happiness, which is scientifically studied along with positive psychology, is considered universal. But recent studies on happiness have shown that happiness is not a priority for every culture, although it is a universal concept. Studies from 2013 have shown that some cultures are afraid of happiness. Fear of happiness is widely seen in collective cultures because of the beliefs and patterns in which happiness is seen as an obstacle to other people’s suffering and the way happy people are seen as bad people in some cultures. Fear of happiness affects life satisfaction, subjective and psychological well-being negatively. Fear of happiness, as considered a significant sign in psychopathologies, also affects the well-being of problems such as depression, anxiety disorder, stress. The purpose of this study is to introduce the educators to the cultural aspect of fear of happiness and the cultural aspect of fear of happiness in a literary context that can be achieved. This study is a visual research that is used by the scan of literature. Study about happiness fear is the source of research. The fear of happiness, which is a cultural teaching, has been attempted to be depicted by literary sources.
