ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN UZAKTAN EĞİTİME YÖNELİK GÖRÜŞLERİ İLE YAŞAM BOYU ÖĞRENME DÜZEYLERİ ARASINDAKİ İLİŞKİ

Abstract:

Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversite öğrencilerinin uzaktan eğitime yönelik görüşleri ile yaşam boyu öğrenme düzeyleri arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya Ondokuz Mayıs Üniversitesi Yaşar Doğu Spor Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinden basit tesadüfi örneklem yöntemiyle seçilen 189’u kadın 337’si erkek olmak üzere toplamda 526 öğrenci katılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Uzaktan Eğitime Yönelik Görüşler Ölçeği (UEYGÖ) ve Yaşam Boyu Öğrenme Ölçeği (YBÖÖ) kullanılmıştır. Verilerin istatiksel değerlendirmesinde farklılıkları ortaya koymak için ikili karşılaştırmalarda Independent samples t-test, çoklu karşılaştırmalarda ise One-Way ANOVA ve Tukey HSD testinden yararlanılmıştır. Uzaktan eğitime yönelik görüşler ölçeği ile yaşam boyu öğrenme ölçeği arasındaki ilişki ise Pearson korelasyon kat sayısı ile değerlendirilmiştir. Araştırmada UEYGÖ alt boyutları ve YBÖÖ’nin toplam puanları ikili karşılaştırmasında cinsiyet değişkeni açısından erkeklerin lehine istatiksel olarak farklılık tespit edilmiştir (p<0,05) Diğer taraftan bölüm değişkenin UEYGÖ’nin “kişisel uygunluk” alt boyutu haricinde anlamlılık tespit edilememiştir (p>0,05). UEYGÖ alt boyutları ile YBÖÖ’nin toplam puanları ile ilişkisi incelendiğinde ise “etkinlik ve yatkınlık” alt boyutlarında pozitif yönde bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak SBF’si öğrencilerinin uzaktan eğitim ve yaşam boyu öğrenme etkinliklerine değer verdikleri, bu etkinliklere katılma ve devam ettirme çabası içinde oldukları, merak güdüsünü harekete geçiren öğrenme yaşantılarını tercih ettikleri görülmektedir.

Relationship between students’ distance learning and lifelong learning levels

The aim of this study is to study the relationship between the views of university students on distance learning and lifelong learning levels. The study included a total of 526 students, including 189 women and 337 men, who were selected by simple random sampling method from students of the Faculty of Eastern Sports Sciences. As a data collection tool, the personal information form, the distance learning opinion scale (UEYGÖ) and the lifelong learning scale (YBÖ) have been used. To identify the differences in the statistical assessment of data, the Independent samples t-test was used in two comparisons, and in multiple comparisons the One-Way ANOVA and Tukey HSD test were used. The relationship between the scale of views on distance learning and the scale of lifelong learning is assessed by the Pearson correlation rate. The study found statistical differences in the benefit of men in terms of gender variable in the comparison of the EUYGÖ subdimensions and the total score of the EUYGÖ (p<0,05) on the other hand, no significance was detected except the subdimensional "personal conformity" of the EUYGÖ (p>0,05). When the relationship between the EUYGÖ subdimensions and the total points of the YBÖ was studied, a positive relationship was found in the subdimensions of "activity and tendency". As a result, SBF’s students value distance learning and lifelong learning activities, they are in an effort to participate and continue these activities, they prefer learning experiences that drive curiosity.

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the opinions of university students on distance education and their lifelong learning levels. A total of 526 students, 189 female and 337 male, chosen with random sampling method among Yaşar Doğu Faculty of Sport Sciences students participated in the study. Personal Information Form, Perceptions about Distance Education Scale (PDES) and Life-long Learning Scale (LLS) were used as data collection tools. In the statistical evaluation of the data, Independent samples t-test was used in paired comparisons and One-Way ANOVA and Tukey HSD test were used in multiple comparisons to show the differences. The relationship between Perceptions about Distance Education Scale and Life-long Learning Scale was evaluated with Pearson correlation coefficient. Statistically significant difference was found in favour of male students in the paired comparison of PDES sub-scales and LLS total scores (p<0.05). On the other hand, no significant difference was found in department variable except for “Personal suitability” subscale of PDES (p>0.05). When the relationship between PDES sub-scales and LLS total scores was examined, a positive association was found in “effectiveness and similarity” subscales. As a conclusion, it can be seen that FSS students cared for distance education and lifelong learning activities, tried to participate in and continue these activities and preferred learning experiences which stimulated the motive of curiosity.
