Abstract:

Alzheimer’s disease is characterized by a progressive deterioration of various cognitive and behavioral abilities. This situation leads significant responsibilities to those who take care of Alzheimer’s patients that need to be constantly carried out. The aim of this study is to explore the relationship between the attitudes of those who take care of Alzheimer’s patients seeking psychological help, self-sufficiency and ways of coping with stress. The study used a relative screening model, and the sample consists of 120 individuals who take care of Alzheimer’s. The analysis of the data from this study was done with SPSS 25.0. The data from the study found a significant deal between the attitudes of stress-dealing patterns in those who take care of Alzheimer’s patients regarding receiving psychological assistance. The change in attitude towards receiving psychological assistance is the best explanation of the change is the approach to applying for social assistance. At the same time, it has been found that there is a meaningful relationship between the ways in which caregivers deal with stress and the levels of self-capacity; and that self-sufficient approach is a meaningful incentive for self-capacity. Research on Alzheimer’s patients and their caregivers is believed to contribute to taking measures to minimize the problems experienced and improve the quality of life.
