SPOR LİSESİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN KARİYER KAYGILARININ İNCELENMESİ

Abstract:

Bu araştırmada spor lisesi öğrencilerinin kariyer kaygılarının cinsiyet, sınıf ve aile gelir düzeyi değişkenlerine göre incelemesi amaçlanmıştır. Araştırmanın evrenini, 2017-2018 eğitim-öğretim yılında, Türkiye’de mevcut 74 spor lisesi oluşturmaktadır. Örneklemeyi ise Sivas, Malatya ve Van illerindeki spor liselerinde eğitim gören 10. 11. ve 12. sınıflardaki, 249’u erkek, 109’u kız olmak üzere toplam 358 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada, nicel ve nitel araştırma yöntemlerini içeren karma yöntem kullanılmıştır. Nicel veriler elde edildikten sonra, bu veriler nitel verilerle desteklenmiştir. Veri toplama aracı olarak nicel kısım için Gündüz ve Yılmaz (2016) tarafından geliştirilen, “Kariyer Kaygısı Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Nitel kısım için ise, araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılmıştır. Örnekleme belirlenirken nicel kısım için kolay örnekleme yöntemi, nitel kısım için maksimum çeşitlilik örneklemesi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda nicel kısımda, öğrencilerin cinsiyet, sınıf ve gelir düzeyi değişkenlerine göre kariyer kaygısı düzeylerinde anlamlı fark bulunamamıştır. Nitel kısımda ise tematik kodlama yöntemi kullanılarak veriler analiz edilmiştir. Analizde verilen cevaplara göre kodlar oluşturulmuştur ve bu kodlardan benzer olanlar kategorize edilerek temalar oluşturulmuştur. Toplam 15 kategori oluşmuş ve bu kategoriler 4 tema (Aile, Okul, Çevre ve Eğitim Sistemi) altında toplanmıştır. Kariyer kaygısı düşük öğrencilerin başka alanlarda kendilerini geliştirmek istedikleri, kariyer kaygısı yüksek öğrencilerin ise okullarının, kendilerini geliştirmede yetersiz olarak gördüklerini, istihdam sorunu yaşayabileceklerini ve 240.000 öğrenci arasına girme barajından dolayı kariyer kaygısı yaşadıklarını söylenebilir. Öneri olarak, ülkemizde bulunan spor liselerinin, fiziki şartları iyileştirilmesi ve her türlü uygulamalı derse uygun hale getirilmesi söylenebilir. İstihdam sorununu çözmek için, okullarımızdaki beden eğitimi ve spor derslerinin haftalık ders sayıları artırılabilir ve sportif sosyal tesislerin sayısı artırılarak, üniversitelerin ilgili alanlarından mezun olan öğrencilerin istihdam edilmesi sağlanabilir.

Abstract:

This study aims to study high school students’ career concerns according to gender, class and family income levels. The universe of research, in the 2017-2018 educational year, is formed by 74 current sports high schools in Turkey. Examples are 10 who have been trained in sports schools in Sivas, Malta and the provinces of Van. In 11th and 12th classes, there are a total of 358 students, including 249 men and 109 girls. In the research, the karma methods that contain quantitative and qualitative research methods have been used. After the quantum data was obtained, these data were supported by the quality data. The "Career Worry Scale" was developed by Day and Years (2016) for the quantum part as a data collection tool. For the qualifying part, the semi-configured interview form prepared by the researchers was used. The easy sampling method for the quantum part when determining the sampling is used, the maximum variety sampling for the qualitative part. The study found no significant differences in the levels of career anxiety according to the variables in gender, class and income levels of students. In the quality section, the data was analyzed using the thematic coding method. According to the answers given in the analysis, codes were created and themes were created by categorizing those similar to these codes. There are 15 categories, and these categories are gathered under 4 themes (Family, School, Environment and Education System). Career anxiety low students want to develop themselves in other fields, while career anxiety high students can be said that their schools see themselves insufficient in developing, they may experience employment problems, and they experience career anxiety due to the barrier between 240,000 students. As a suggestion, the sports schools in our country can be said to improve physical conditions and make any practical lessons suitable. To solve the employment problem, the number of weekly courses of body education and sports courses in our schools can be increased and the number of sports social facilities can be increased, ensuring that students who have graduated from the relevant fields of the universities can be employed.

The nature of study consists of the current 74 sports high schools in Turkey in the 2017-2018 academic year. The modelling consists of a total of 358 students, 249 boys and 109 girls, in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades of sports high schools in Sivas, Malatya and Van provinces. Both quantitative and qualitative research methods were used together throughout the research . After quantitative data were obtained, these data were supported along with the qualitative data. As a data collection tool "Career Anxiety Scale" developed by Gündüz and Yılmaz (2016) was used for the quantitative part. For the qualitative part, a semi-structured interview form was used , which was laid out by the researchers. While determining the modelling, the easy sampling method for the quantitative part and the maximum variation sampling for the qualitative part were used. As a result of the research, in the quantitative part, no significant difference was found in career anxiety levels of the students according to the variables of gender, class and income level. In the qualitative part, the data were analyzed using thematic coding method. Codes were created according to the answers given in the analysis and themes were created by categorizing similar codes. A total of 15 categories have been formed and these categories have been gathered under 4 themes (Family, School, Environment and Education System). It can be said that students with low career anxiety want to improve themselves in other fields, students with high career anxiety think that their schools are inadequate to improve their skills and that they might struggle finding an employment. As an admission requirement to a higher education , having to be among the first 240.000 students nationwide is triggering the career anxiety that the students are facing. As a suggestion, it can be said that the physical conditions of sports high schools in our country should be improved and made suitable for all kinds of applied lessons. Also, increasing the weekly numbers of physical education and sports lessons in our schools and putting more social and sports facilities in place might create more employment opportunities for the students who have graduated from related fields of universities.
